Houston Airports ready for millions of Spring Break travelers in first major travel rush of 2025

Houston Airports to welcome 2.3 million passengers between March 6 and March 17.

HOUSTON—Houston Airports is gearing up for its first major travel surge of the year. 2.3 million travelers are expected to pass through George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) over the 12-day Spring Break period from March 6 to March 17, 2025. This represents a 6% increase at Bush Airport compared to last year and highlights Houston’s continued role as a primary gateway to the South-Central region of the U.S. and Latin America.

When to expect the biggest crowds

More than 1 million people are expected to fly through Houston within the first 5 days of Spring Break.

  • Thursday, March 6 – 207,000 passengers expected
  • Friday, March 7 – 226,000 passengers expected
  • Saturday, March 8 – 205,000 passengers expected
  • Sunday, March 9 – 221,000 passengers expected
  • Monday, March 10 – 220,000 passengers expected
