Airport employees honored at special pinning ceremony ahead of National Wear Red Day.
HOUSTON—Houston Airports is proud to join the American Heart Association (AHA) in raising awareness for heart health and recognizing its vital role in the well-being of travelers, airport employees and the Houston community. In a special pinning ceremony ahead of National Wear Red Day on February 7, 2025, Houston Airports employees were honored for their support of heart health initiatives.
Saba Abashawl, chief external affairs officer for Houston Airports, has been named a 2025 Woman of Impact by the AHA’s Greater Houston chapter. This prestigious designation recognizes women who drive awareness and education to fight cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death among women. Over the next nine weeks, Abashawl will use her platform to advocate for heart health and encourage others to take action. In her role, Abashawl oversees global industry relations, government affairs, and community engagement for Houston Airports, helping to position the city as a premier international gateway.
“Houston Airports is more than a gateway for travelers—we are a part of this community, and heart health affects us all,” said Abashawl. “By joining this campaign, my colleagues and I are reinforcing our commitment to the well-being of our employees, passengers and Houstonians.”
The American Heart Association’s Woman of Impact campaign launches yearly on National Wear Red Day, the first Friday in February. The initiative unites influential women nationwide to leverage their networks to educate others about cardiovascular disease, advocate for heart health and impact lifesaving research.
Through its support of the AHA, Houston Airports continues to prioritize community engagement and the health of those who travel through its world-class facilities.
