Texas resident Catharine Knight recently brought her “Handwritten Notes 17” random act of kindness project to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).
The program that she and her sons started from her Allen, Texas, home began in 2017 —hence the 17 in the program name. The goal is to positively impact someone’s life, in hopes it will be paid forward to others. Knight wants to ultimately make the world a better place. Each card that Knight hands-out contains a message meant to shine a bit of light.
Making the cards is a family affair. The family uses stickers, markers and card stock to handcraft the cards at their home. They pass out the thoughtful notes anywhere they go, including restaurants, malls, coffee shops and due to Knight’s work schedule—even airports. To date, more than 25,000 cards have been given.
CBS News recently took a glimpse into the project when Knight traveled through IAH. Knight passed out cards to passengers, pilots, gate agents and anyone who looked like they needed a smile with messages like “go make some magic today” and “create something beautiful every day.” View feature story on CBS Evening news here or read it about it here.
Houston Airports thanks Ms. Knight and CBS News for including IAH in the Handwritten Notes 17 project.
