National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign held in neighborhoods around the nation. Houstonians celebrate this community event the first Tuesday in October. The Houston Police Department at Houston Airports recently held a National Night Out event in the terminals at William P. Hobby and George Bush Intercontinental airports.
The campaign enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. The Houston Police Department at Houston’s airports hosted display tables with information in the terminal buildings with important safety information. Officers were available to meet and greet passengers and answer questions.
"National Night Out helps to create police and community partnerships with a goal to make our neighborhoods a safer and better place to live," said Houston Police Officer Andrea Forch. "It is important that we share important safety information and get residents excited about participating in their own National Night Out events and the airport location provided a great opportunity to share our message.
