Retired Lt. Col. Paul Clyde Hudson arrived back on U.S. soil at George Bush Intercontinental Airport on Feb. 5. Lt. Col. Clyde was also a courageous firefighter. He was one of three American firefighters killed in a plane crash while battling wildfires in southeastern Australia. In late January, the trio was aboard a C-130 Hercules aerial water tanker that crashed after dropping fire retardant along a ridge. Fellow Marines, along with the Customs and Border Protection honor guard, saluted this American hero while being transferred to another flight that would take him to his final resting place.
