Houston Airports is proud of its partnerships with the local business community and continues to engage with the community to keep the public informed about the latest at Houston Airports.

Houston Aviation Director Mario Diaz addressed the Asian Chamber of Commerce and gave an update on how COVID-19 has impacted travel, especially to Asian destinations. Diaz detailed FlySafe Houston— a program which launched in June that provides an enhanced safety commitment to ensuring the safety and health of all passengers who arrive, depart and connect through George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby airports. Due to travel restriction, international flights to Asian destinations from Houston are limited.

Houston Airports Chief Development Officer of Infrastructure Bob Barker participated in the National Association of Minority Contractors’ annual “Day of the Construction Worker” event that aims to recognize construction professionals and highlight Houston’s minority-owned construction contractors who have kept working through the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference featured active construction site videos, keynote speakers and industry leaders that discussed how Houston’s construction industry has come together to overcome the challenges presented by the COVID-19 global pandemic and kept Houston's economic engine running strong.

Bob Barker addressed the group and spoke about Houston Airports dedication to involving minority construction companies in airport construction. Barker also gave an update on the progress of the IAH Terminal Redevelopment Program.

Houston Airports enjoys strong partnerships with local chambers and trade organizations through its community relations outreach.
