In 1917, few could imagine that the new aviation training facility would transition into what we know of Ellington Airport today, a vital part of aviation that will enable Houston to take a lead role in the the commercial space sector in the 21st century.
Initially established as a World War I training facility, Ellington Airport has undergone many transformations and operational changes while remaining consistent and a vital part of Houston’s aviation stor y. This rich history will be celebrated on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a Centennial Celebration for Ellington Airport. This family-friendly event is free to the public and will feature food, music, games and aircraft displays.
We hope to see you there. For more information, please visit www.fly2houston.com/efd100/.
