Nonstop flights starting on December 2 - tickets are now on sale.

October 5, 2023

Ultra-low-cost Mexican carrier Viva Aerobus announced today its new year-round service from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to Queretaro, Mexico. Starting on December 2, this nonstop route will operate four days per week. This route builds on Viva's expansion into the US and Houston, a city also offering flights to Guadalajara, Leon, Mexico City and Monterrey. Tickets are already available, offering one-way fares for as low as USD $79 plus taxes.

"We are thrilled to welcome Viva Aerobus’ fifth nonstop connection from IAH to Mexico. Houston continues to be one of the leading markets in the U.S. by the number of Mexican destinations served and this new service will continue to strengthen the ties between Houston and Mexico.” Said Mario Diaz, Director of Aviation for Houston Airports.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently reinstated Mexico’s aviation safety rating to the highest level and now Mexican airlines may operate under a Category 1 safety rating.

"We are excited to announce additional growth in the US cities where we already operate as part of our major expansion strategy in this country, encouraging passengers to take advantage of our increased connectivity, low fares and modern fleet,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus. “A unique benefit of our service is that, thanks to our partner bus companies, we provide the H-Town passengers up to 50% discount on bus tickets to discover beautiful ‘magic towns’ near Queretaro such as San Miguel de Allende, Bernal and Tequisquiapan. Besides, this route also represents more opportunities for Mexican travelers to discover America's fourth-largest city, a cosmopolitan destination with world-class entertainment and shopping, serving leisure, VFR, and business markets, thus, boosting local tourism and economy”, he added.

Founded in 2006, Viva Aerobus will land again at George Bush Intercontinental Airport with options for passengers that go beyond low fares. The carrier gives passengers the possibility to customize travel to their needs and budget; the opportunity to fly in the youngest fleet in Mexico and 4th in all of North America, made up of 78 Airbus aircraft; and offers its loyalty and reward program, Doters, which makes flying easier and with more benefits.

Nonstop flights are scheduled to take off from Queretaro at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays with return flights from Houston at 5:55 p.m. Flights will be serviced by the airline’s family of Airbus A320 aircraft, which boasts the largest single-aisle cabin in the skies, giving passengers more space, wider seats, and larger overhead compartments.
