Sun Country Airlines begins flights out of Hobby Airport
March 21, 2024

HOUSTON – Beginning spring 2024, Sun Country Airlines (NASDAQ: SNCY) is launching nonstop flights between Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota (MSP) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) rather than George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). One-way flights between MSP and HOU are as low at $59.

The move from Bush Airport expands the air service at Hobby Airport. Last year, Hobby Airport partnered with five airlines. So far this year, Hobby Airport has added Sun Country Airlines and Avelo Airlines, bringing the total airlines to seven, the most ever featured at Hobby Airport.

“Houston Airports is delighted to announce that Sun Country Airlines will now be part of the exceptional travel experience offered at Hobby Airport, the only 5-Star Skytrax Airport in North America,” said Željka Momirović, Director of Air Service Development for Houston Airports. “This expanded air service not only provides passengers with greater choice but also ensures they will enjoy a top-tier travel experience while connecting to Houston. By connecting the people, businesses, cultures and economies of the world to Houston, we are proud to showcase the unparalleled hospitality and efficiency that’s become a signature of Houston’s airports. We eagerly anticipate the continued positive impact this partnership will have on both our local economy and the seamless journey of Sun Country Airlines passengers."

Sun Country passengers can now connect to eight new domestic, seasonal nonstop routes from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to:

  • Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ), New Mexico
  • Billings Logan International Airport (BIL), Montana
  • Boise Airport (BOI), Idaho
  • Dulles International Airport (IAD), Virginia/Washington, D.C.
  • Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR), Grand Rapids, Michigan
  • Missoula Montana Airport (MSO), Montana
  • Oakland International Airport (OAK), California
  • Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR), New York

With these new destinations, Sun Country will offer nonstop service from MSP to 98 distinct markets in 2024. “Sun Country prides itself on being the leisure airline of choice for MSP customers,” said Grant Whitney, senior vice president and chief revenue officer for Sun Country. “We have more than doubled our nonstop destinations for customers flying out of MSP in the last five years and we are thrilled to offer these unique new offerings spanning the continent from Quebec to New Mexico.”
