HOUSTON — Spirit Airlines continues to strengthen its commitment to the Houston market with an announcement this week about the addition of two new routes from George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The ultra-low cost carrier begins nonstop daily year-round service from Bush Airport to Newark International Airport and a seasonal route to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, both beginning April 27, 2017.

“Spirit Airlines continues to capitalize on opportunities for expansion in Houston, now providing our customers with flight options to nearly 20 markets,” said Molly Waits, Director of Air Service Development for the Houston Airport System. “Since starting with one nonstop destination from Bush Airport in September 2012, their aggressive and steady growth strategy has made for a successful partnership in Houston, and we look forward to exploring additional growth opportunities with Spirit in the future.”

The latest additions are part of 10 new routes announced this week. With the two new destinations at Bush Airport, Spirit Airlines will serve 19 markets out of Houston with 20 daily flights.
