HOUSTON- The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded Houston Airports $5.49 million under the Airport Terminal Program, which is funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The complete list of airports benefiting from the FAA funding can be found here.

The grant money will fund the expansion, reconstruction and modernization of at least 10 restroom facilities in Terminals A and D. The funds will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall passenger experience by providing sustainable and modern restroom facilities beyond TSA checkpoints, near Gates.

Terminal A, one of the two original terminals at Bush Airport since 1969, will undergo a significant upgrade. The FAA funding allows for the implementation of sustainable and modern design elements, ensuring a comfortable and state-of-the-art restroom experience for passengers. Additionally, the funding will contribute to the ongoing revitalization efforts in Terminal D. Recent construction projects in Terminal D include the replacement of flooring, furniture and lighting, along with new paint to create a more modern and aesthetically pleasing environment for travelers.

This latest grant is part of the ongoing success of Houston Airports in securing federal funding through the FAA. In the past year, Houston Airports has been awarded various grants for critical infrastructure improvements, demonstrating a commitment to creating world-class facilities:
