Anyone for coffee?
Minuti Coffee, a premium American-Italian coffee shop concept that combines the traditional Italian coffee house with a modern American touch, opened a new location at the Lone Star Flight Museum, LSFM, at Ellington Airport in July. The occasion marked the first food and drink concept at Ellington Airport as well for the museum.
The café inside the flight museum provides an added experience for museum visitors of all ages and features a variety of specialty menu items, including Italian-style iced coffees, a yogurt-based espresso alternative to energy drinks, freshly brewed Italian blend coffees, smoothies and a full menu of pastries, sandwiches, salads, and wraps for breakfast and lunch.
According to Anna Hawley, Chief Marketing Officer for the flight museum, seasonal and special menu items will be added throughout the year.
The casual food and drink concept was made possible through a partnership between LSFM and Houston-based Minuti Coffee company owner, Ardavan Motamedi. He said, “I believe in the Lone Star Flight Museum, their mission and how they impact the community. Part of my business includes a commitment to creating positive effect in Houston. I wanted to do something big to support the museum, so this Minuti Coffee location has been donated to the Lone Star Flight Museum for their visitors and the community to enjoy.”
LSFM President and CEO Lt. Gen. (ret.) Doug Owens said, “When the Lone Star Flight Museum relocated in 2017 to Ellington Airport, a food and drink experience in the museum was part of our overall plan. We considered many options over the last few years, but after meeting with Ardavan and learning more about him, the Minuti Coffee franchise, and the opportunities that came with it, we knew we had found the right fit. Ardavan’s generosity fulfills a huge goal for us. Now, visitors and early morning coffee drinkers can enjoy Minuti Coffee right here at LSFM! It’s going to be a great addition to our museum and a welcomed food and drink option for the workforce at Ellington and nearby businesses.”
The café is located just inside the entrance to the museum with additional access from outside the museum. Operating hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. After Labor Day the shop will be closed on Mondays.
Hawley said that this summer, LSFM visitors can enjoy Minuti Coffee and the museum is also featuring new exhibits, visiting aircraft, programs, events, summer camps and scouts on this season’s flight plan. Click here to learn more.
