In a testament to its commitment to elevating the air travel experience, William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is poised for significant expansion in 2024 by introducing two prominent airlines to its roster. This strategic move not only underscores the airport's growing prominence but also solidifies its reputation as the premier aviation hub in North America, boasting the prestigious 5-Star Skytrax rating.

As travelers increasingly seek seamless connections and enhanced amenities, the addition of Sun Country Airlines and Avelo Airlines signals a new era of convenience and choice for passengers traversing the skies and a strategic expansion of air service, positioning Hobby Airport to better meet the growing air travel demands on Houston’s south side.

“From world-class amenities to Houston-friendly hospitality and an efficient experience from curb to gate, our team at Hobby is ready to welcome even more travelers to the first and only 5-Star Skytrax Airport in North America," said Jim Szczesniak, Director of Aviation for Houston Airports.

Starting this spring, Sun Country Airlines is offering nonstop flights between Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota (MSP) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). One-way fares start at just $59.

This new route marks Avelo's entry into the Houston market and positions the airline as the sole provider of nonstop flights between Houston and Connecticut. Avelo will operate the route twice weekly, utilizing Boeing Next Generation (NG) 737 aircraft, with introductory one-way fares starting at $98.
