Airport employees volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to build a home at Robin’s Landing, a master-planned community developed by the non-profit organization.
Houston Airports exists to connect the people, businesses, economies and cultures of the world to Houston, terminal not required. Driven by a desire to connect, nearly two dozen Houston Airports employees of division across the airport system volunteered with Habitat for Humanity on a community build project at Robin’s Landing.
The mixed-income, master-planned community developed by Habitat for Humanity is located in northeast Houston and features a commercial food hall, a tree farm, a 12-acre park and a branch of the Houston Public Library. The thriving community offers affordable housing for Houstonians in all stages of life. Habitat for Humanity seeks volunteers to help build stunning 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes for families who need safe and affordable housing.
“This build was an occasion to meet other leaders in the community, network, strengthen our community, improve the lives of people, work alongside future Habitat homeowners, learn different skills and for affordable housing in our city,” said Rhonda C. Arnold, Chief Community Relations and Business Affairs Officer for Houston Airports. “Our team worked alongside Cheniere Energy in volunteering in the community and educating our employees about the work and impact they help make possible through participating in this effort.”
Houston Airports employees hope to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in 2024, as participation out in the community is meaningful to the Houstonians who live in the neighborhoods that surround the city’s airports.
