Healthy Art Walking Tour now available at IAH
Get your heart racing, your limbs moving and your creativity going by experiencing #HoustonAirportsArt through movement.
Houston Airports is establishing a signature experience through its diverse and expansive arts program. Five works of art on display at George Bush Intercontinental Airport now serve as inspiration for low-impact movements that range from stretches to squats.
Alton DuLaney, Curator of Public Art for Houston Airports, coordinated the self-guided art and exercise tour branded as a Healthy Art Walking Tour, or HAWT.
Cellphone QR codes displayed near the five artworks link participants to short YouTube videos which include an explanation of the exercise by a certified personal trainer and information about the artwork and artist narrated by DuLaney. Houston Airports employees help to demonstrate the exercises.
Houston Airports is working to create a Healthy Art Walking Tour for William P. Hobby Airport.
