Volunteer Ambassador Program
A diverse group of Houston Airports Volunteer Ambassadors spotlight the city’s signature hospitality by greeting airport guests, providing information, assisting air travelers and sharing unique details about Houston’s airports. Ambassadors volunteer at George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport.
Whether it’s a welcoming smile or pointing an airport guest in the right direction, the Volunteer Ambassador Program is crucial to supporting the millions of passengers who visit Houston’s airports each year. Our team of Ambassadors represent Houston, the most diverse city in the United States.
Each Volunteer Ambassador offers a unique connection to aviation. We invite you to spark up a conversation with our team of Ambassadors who proudly wear red shirts or jackets.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS | AMBASSADORS SHARE WHY THEY LOVE VOLUNTEERING
“There are never two days just alike. There’s always a story to share with my family when I return home about something positive that happened at the airport. I think of this ‘job’ as my ego booster!”
- Norma
“Knowing we are often the first -and sometimes the only- impression of Houston and our country is a rare opportunity. ‘Houston Friendly’ is not just a slogan for us, it’s natural.”
- Bud
“There is never a dull moment at the airport. People scurry in every direction all the time. I get caught up in the excitement and feel like I belong, that I am appreciated, and I am part of the excitement. Volunteering at the airport is taking retirement life to the next level. I am embracing every minute.”
- Susan
