Jan 25, 2026
Houston Airports winter weather operations update (10:15 a.m., Jan. 25)
Travelers are urged to monitor airlines and road conditions.
HOUSTON — Houston Airports continues to monitor winter weather conditions across the region. This morning:
- IAH, HOU and EFD remain open and operational.
- Deicing of airport roads, bridges, and overpasses continues as needed.
- Airlines are deicing aircraft ahead of departures.
Houston Airports will be deactivating its Emergency Operations Centers at IAH and HOU at 12 p.m. today. Operations teams will continue to monitor weather conditions.
Flight delays and cancellations are possible as weather conditions continue to worsen in other parts of the country. Travelers are encouraged to stay in close communication with their airline for the most current flight information. Many airlines are offering flexible rebooking options at no additional cost.
Passengers heading to the airport today should take it slow on the roads and allow extra time for their commute.
Flight delays and cancellations can be tracked at Fly2Houston.com, where passengers can also find airline travel waivers, flight status links and frequently asked questions.
Houston's airports are not shelters. Passengers should coordinate directly with their airline if travel plans change.
