Houston Airports adds another expedited identity-verification option ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
HOUSTON — Houston Airports has introduced new biometric eGates at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) Terminal E and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). The technology is deployed by CLEAR in partnership with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
The eGates are designed to give CLEAR+ Members a more seamless and predictable travel experience. With this new technology, travelers can verify their identity in under five seconds, bypassing the TSA podium and proceeding directly to physical screening. The timing couldn’t be better – the rollout comes amid the busy holiday season and next year’s influx of international visitors for the FIFA World Cup.

The rollout arrives at a pivotal time for airports nationwide. More than 20 million international visitors are expected to travel to the United States for the 2026 World Cup, increasing pressure on the security infrastructure in host cities. CLEAR’s eGates support TSA’s broader modernization effort to strengthen security, shorten wait times and improve passenger flow during peak travel periods.
