Faster connections for TSA PreCheck passengers at IAH

Houston Airports makes it easier for some international travelers to reconnect—no detour required.

May 9, 2025

Houston Airports has unveiled a new lane and signage at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) that directs some TSA PreCheck passengers—those arriving from international destinations—straight to expedited screening in Terminal E.

The enhancement simplifies the connection process for eligible travelers who have cleared U.S. Customs and Border Protection and need to re-enter Bush Airport for a connecting flight. The dedicated lane guides qualifying passengers directly to the TSA PreCheck queue for Terminal E.

TSA Precheck recheck

Opened in August 2024, the TSA recheck area in Terminal E features multiple screening lanes designed to streamline international connections. The new directional lane, introduced Friday, May 9, reflects the airport system'scommitment to making the journey faster, easier and more user-friendly—whether passengers are reconnecting or just getting started.

Look for the PreCheck signs once you’ve cleared customs. The streamlined entrance is just past baggage claim and designed to keep your journey moving.
